Yamé is considered to be the finest appellation of tea in Japan, especially in Gyokuro, the top of the top grade of Japanese green tea with the intense taste.  In fact, in the national tea fair in August 2007, Gyokuro of Yamé held all the ranking positions from 1st to 26th as the best Gyokuro.
